Founded in 1973 and located on a 207-acre campus in Swainsboro, East Georgia College, formerly known as Emanuel County Junior College, is a fully accredited two-year unit of the University System of Georgia, providing a wide range of credit and non-credit academic programs and an environment for intellectual and cultural growth in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, business, and various health disciplines. In addition to the main campus, the college is a member of the consortium which administers and offers courses at the Statesboro Center in Statesboro, Georgia. The college offers programs of study leading to the Associate of Arts and the Associate of Applied Science degrees as well as one-year programs.
