Hendrix College, a private, undergraduate institution of the liberal arts related to the United Methodist Church, offers distinguished academic programs in a residential, coeducational setting. The Hendrix administration has grown over the years, following a common pattern in higher education. In the early days, faculty handled administrative matters in addition to their teaching duties. But, as higher education institutions grew more complex and student expectations changed, additional staff was needed to provide student services, to manage business affairs, to recruit new students and to raise money to support the College.
