The Midwest College of Oriental Medicine emerged from several "apprenticeship style" study groups in Chicago's Chinatown and Koreatown in the mid-1970s. The school began enrolling students into a more formal setting for the study of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1979. After ten years teaching in Chicago, the main campus moved to Racine, Wisconsin and Chicago became a branch campus. Complete programs are offered at both campuses.
