Schiller International University was founded in 1964 as Schiller College by Dr. Walter Leibrecht in Kleiningersheim Castle, overlooking the Neckar River, in Southern Germany. Dr. Leibrecht established a traditional American Study Abroad program in Germany with English as the language of instruction. American students were given the opportunity to experience life and studies in Europe for one or two semesters, or for the duration of an entire degree program.
