The International University was founded in 1973 as an integral component of The International University Foundation, a not-for- profit Corporation under the General Not-For-Profit Law of Missouri. Since the University's founding, administrative offices have been maintained in the State of Missouri. Affiliated learning centers are located in twenty eight countries. Dr. Barnhart attended / worked with the original TIU from 1987 until 1995 at the Independence Missouri location, and graduated with a Ph.D. in Education after seven years of intense research and study.
