The University of Southern Mississippi Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to serving the university community by overseeing fund-raising efforts and serving as a scholarship bank. The Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
Development officers and researchers maintain relationships with donors to the university; financial service employees track incoming and outgoing funds; and the entire staff works to serve university students and employees with financial needs in their educational endeavors.
The Foundation was formed in 1959 as a branch of the Alumni Association. It became its own entity in 1988 when the Articles of Incorporation were drafted and approved.
The Foundation is located in the Honor House on the Hattiesburg campus of Southern Miss. Development officers serve as points of contact between The Foundation and all five university colleges, with an office at each college.
