A Scholarship is another way of financial aid, which opposite to loans does not need to be repaid. There are two types, undergraduate scholarship and graduate, offered by thousand sponsors around the world, through institutions, internet, etc. every year, specially reserved for those students that fulfil some requirement and/or qualification talents.

Besides, there are scholarships and fellowships for those students who either are interested in studying, or are members of some special group, or live in some special place or demonstrate financial need.

If you are interested in any of them, there are several free scholarship databases available online using a web search engine programs. Also, there are bulletins posted at your school, college or university, public libraries, etc.

There are all kinds of sponsors, including those unusual institutions that offer scholarships to those students that write with the left hand, between them;

- Prestigious scholarships that are the most competitive and lucrative. - Full tuition academic scholarships offer by colleges. - Scholarships for average students, usually for those who could not have a 4.0 GPA, focussing on their qualities. - Community service scholarships. - Scholarships for students under 13 years old and in grade K-8.

There two confusing terms by parents and students. Both, a scholarship and a grant are forms of student financial aid that do not need to be repaid. But, the difference between them is that a scholarship depends on academic, athletic, or artistic merit criteria, while a grant is based on financial need. Sponsor is the offering institution of scholarships to possible candidates.

Sometimes, you could find a dreamy scholarship, but is very important to know how to recognized and protect yourself from scams. So, do not waste money and time looking for those services that ask for money, generally those are scams; just look for information in free services that are on the Web.
