Framingham State College Framingham State College, founded by Horace Mann in 1839, is an institution with a strong liberal arts focus and a rich history of academic innovation. Our distinguished faculty bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the classroom and are committed to teaching on the undergraduate level. Students learn in small classes and work closely with dedicated instructors. At first glance, Framingham State College appears to be a typical, small New England liberal arts college, but if you ask our students, you will find so much more! When students are asked why they chose to attend Framingham State College, they mention its outstanding academic reputation, interesting course offerings, the exciting location, sense of community spirit, and, of course, its affordable cost. Our students know that a college education involves much more than time spent in the classroom. Both inside and outside of the classroom, the college years are a time of intellectual challenges, self-discovery, and establishing new friendships. At Framingham State College, you will find a college with a solid, traditional liberal arts foundation which encourages independent thought and creativity. In the spirit of Christa Corrigan McAuliffe, Class of 1970, you will be prepared to reach for the stars and touch the future at Framingham State College!
